NAME & OBJECTS
1. The club shall be called the Dalgety Bay Squash and Tennis Club, hereinafter called the Club.
2. The objects of the Club shall be to promote and encourage the games of squash and tennis and to provide facilities for members and others to play squash and tennis.
CONSTITUTION
3. The Club shall consist of ordinary junior, juvenile and lunch-time members. Subscriptions shall be fixed for the ensuing season at the annual general meeting.
The officials of the Club, who shall be elected annually, shall be: Hon. President; Hon. Vice President; Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer.
Each may be eligible for re-election to the same post.
ADMINISTRATION
4. The affairs of the Club shall be governed by a main committee consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and three ordinary members.
In the event of any vacancy occurring during the season, it may be filled by appointment of the committee. Such an appointed person must retire at the annual general meeting following appointment, but is eligible to stand for any vacancy. Committee members will be appointed annually and thereafter will be eligible for re-election.
The president of the Club, whom failing, the Vice President, shall preside at all meetings of the main committee.
5. The main Committee shall be the sole authority as to the interpretation of the constitution and rules of the Club, and shall be vested with all the powers competent to the Club itself, except insofar as these are expressly reserved to the members in general meeting by the constitution and rules.
6. The main committee shall decide all matters concerning the working and management of the Club.
The main committee shall meet as often as is necessary, or whenever summoned by the Secretary or the President, or on a requisition signed by not less than one third of the members thereof. They shall determine the places and times of their meetings. Four members of the committee shall form a quorum and all questions shall be decided by a majority of the members preset, the Chairman having a deliberative as well as a casting vote.
7. The duties of the Hon. Secretary shall be to minute correctly the proceedings at the annual general meeting and any special meetings of the members, and of the main committee, to attend to all correspondence appertaining to the business of the Club and take charge of papers, books and records of the Club.
8. The main committee may appoint any sub-committee they deem expedient, shall appoint conveners of all sub-committees and may delegate to such sub-committees such powers of the main committee as may be expedient.
9. The Hon. Treasurer shall keep correct books and accounts, showing the financial affairs and intromissions of the Club and shall prepare a full statement of the accounts showing the income and expenditure of the Club for the year ending 31 December annually, which statement shall be submitted to an auditor or auditors to be appointed at the annual general meeting, and with the auditor's report, shall be submitted to the annual general meeting of the Club.
10. The main committee alone shall have the power of electing members of the club.
The main committee shall have the right to refuse membership any candidate and they shall not be required to state their reason for their refusal. In this respect, the following declaration will apply:
1. Membership is open to all and no application for membership will be refused on other than reasonable grounds e.g. there will be no discrimination on grounds of race, occupation or religious, political or other opinion.
2. If an application for membership is refused, the committee will be prepared, if asked, to state their reasons to the Scottish Sports Council.
11. Only a person who has reached the age of 18 years or over, at the commencement of the subscription year shall be eligible to apply for ordinary membership. The main committee shall have the power to elect as junior members of the Club, persons who are under the age of 18 years and over 14 at that date, or juvenile members, those persons up to the age of 14. Junior or juvenile members shall have no power to vote at any meeting. The privileges of junior and juvenile members shall be such as may be laid down from time to time by the main committee.
12. Friends and supporters of the Club, who contribute to the funds of the Club, may be appointed to the list of patrons, patrons shall not have any privileges of members and shall have no right to vote or take part in the management of the Club. The Club may, in general meeting and on the recommendations of the main committee elect. Hon. Life Memberships of the Club to any person or persons, who has, or have rendered any special services or series of services to the Club.
13. The annual subscription shall be fixed by a simple majority at the annual general meeting of the Club. It will be payable by members on or before 30 April each year to run from 1st March to 28th February following, and any member failing to pay his or her subscription at that date shall be liable to be struck off the roll of the Club. A new member's subscription shall be payable before admission. The amount of any entry fee shall be determined by the main committee. The committee reserves the right to charge a joining fee, offer mid-season discount and late payment surcharges.
GENERAL MEETINGS
14. The annual general meeting of the Club shall be held by the end of March in each year, at which the accounts and the report of the main committee shall be submitted. Office bearers shall be elected and other matters affecting the affairs of the Club discussed. Copies of the audited accounts shall be sent to each member with the notice of the meeting.
15. Extraordinary general meetings shall be held at any time on ten days notice thereof being given and shall be convened by the Secretary by direction of the main committee or by a requisition signed by at least twenty members of the Club and placed in the hands of the Secretary. All notices convening extraordinary general meetings shall specify the business to be considered.
16. At all general meetings of the Club 10% in number of all ordinary members present in person or by proxy shall be a quorum and all questions shall be decided by a majority of the members present in person or by proxy, the Chairman having a deliberative as well as a casting vote. All proxy forms must be in the hands of the Secretary at least two clear days before the meetings.
Ten days notice of all general meetings of the Club shall be given by the Secretary by post to members.
17. A printed copy of the Constitution and Rules shall be given to each member of the Club.
18. The Club shall be non-profit making and if, upon the winding up or dissolution of the Club, there remains after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any property whatsoever, the same shall be given or transferred to some other organisation or organisations having objects similar to the objects of the Club, such organisation or organisations to be determined by the members of the Club by resolution passed at a general meeting at or before the time of the dissolution and insofar as effect cannot be given to such provision then to some charitable object. If a deficiency arises, each member shall be liable to contribute his proportion of that deficiency.
19. Every member binds himself to abide by the Constitution and Rules of the Club and by any modification thereof or bye laws made in conformity thereto.
20. In the event of a breach by of the rules and regulations or bye laws of the Club by a member which in the opinion of the main committee, constitutes conduct which the committee may decide unsportsmanlike, prejudicial to the interest of the public or the sport, the said committee shall have the power to invite attendance of such member before them for purpose of inquiry, or if they think fit to call for explanations, or with or without such inquiry or explanations, to caution, suspend or expel such member at their discretion and to post a statement of the action or decision of the committee on the notice board in the Club if they so determine. No member shall be suspended or expelled except by a resolution supported by at least two thirds of the main committee present at a meeting specially called for the purpose and of which seven days notice had been given in writing to the members of the main committee. The right of appeal on behalf of such a member will exist to an extraordinary general meeting called for that purpose.
21. The constitution and rules may be amended and altered only with the approval of the committee of the Club, and ratified by a majority of two thirds of the members present in person or by proxy at the next annual general meeting following,
22. The committee shall have the power to make and enforce bye laws with regard to the management of the Club. Notice of the bye laws shall be given to the members by intimation on the notice board in the Sports Complex.
CAPITAL EXPENDITURE
23. The Club may undertake capital projects at its own instigation.
24. The main committee shall be empowered to borrow on behalf of the Club, provided that the size of the borrowing commitment has the prior approval of an extraordinary general meeting of the Club.

The squash courts have been cleaned and repaired. They are looking fantastic.
January 2010
The 3 squash courts at Dalgety Bay Squash Club will be unavailable for use from Monday 18th January for 5 to 6 days. This is so that essential maintenance, cleaning, repairing and improvements can be made.
